The philosophy on which Pranatherapy is based was born in India:
It is based on the vital energy, which is called Prana in India, Ki in Japan, or Chi in China. This primitive and vital energy fills everything and every being. It emanates from the sun and allows the maintenance of life.
It is captured by each person through the aura and circulates in the body through the nadis, the channels of the subtle body.
The chakras, another key element of the subtle body, are energy centres distributed along the spine, from the coccyx to the top of the head. They are considered to be the energy centres of the body, represented by wheels - the term chakra means wheel - at which the nadis intersect.
Although they are part of the subtle body, they are related to certain organs, namely the endocrine system, the digestive system and the respiratory system.
They therefore receive vital energy. When a person is disturbed, because of the hazards of life, or because of emotional changes, this vital energy is no longer captured as it should be and they can suffer from various physical and psychological disorders.
